Energy Efficiency

  1. Have air leaks tested and sealed.
  2. Increase insulation in exterior walls, floors and attics.
  3. Install attic tent over attic access.
  4. Seal duct work seams.
  5. Insulate duct work.
  6. Tune up HVAC system and keep it clean.
  7. Install properly sized filters in HVAC system and keep them clean or changed.
  8. Install set back thermostat designed for your HVAC system.
  9. Control the humidity in your home.
  10. Bring in fresh air to the structure that is clean, conditioned and controlled.
  11. Wrap electric water heater in insulated blanket.
  12. Have high efficiency water heater installed in lieu of old style.
  13. Insulate hot water pipes where possible.
  14. Install sealed combustion and high efficiency appliances where possible instead of less expensive units that consume indoor air and use large amounts of energy.
  15. Use low wattage high light output bulbs.

Remember, approximately 49% of your utility bill goes to Heating and A/C.  Put your money where it works the most.
